About Thai Massage for the Table

This 16-hour course teaches a 90-minute Thai massage routine adapted for a massage table. A brief history, philosophy and traditions will be included in the course. Participants will learn proper alignment and good body mechanics as well as how to safely deliver the stretches and postures. Students will be able to practice on each other in a supportive environment.
Performing treatments on a massage table is great for those:

  • That cannot be on the floor due to injuries or extremely limited mobility
  • Ideal for wellness centers with electronic lift tables

Please bring a pillow, pillow case, and flat sheet.
This class is ideal for those massage therapists, yoga practitioners, energy workers, or those with a background in anatomy. A manual is included in the cost.

Thai Yoga Massage Basics at Namas Day Yoga Celebration

Thai Yoga Massage (also called Thai Massage, Nuad Boran, and Thai Bodywork) is a combination of energy work, compression, stretching, and joint manipulation. The application of Thai massage is rhythmic and meditative, and your partners may feel both relaxed and rejuvenated!  Thai Yoga Massage is applied fully clothed on a mat. In this course, you will learn synchronized movements that will deepen your connection with yourself, as well as your partner.

Each workshop begins with a brief lecture on the philosophy and tradition of Traditional Thai Medicine. We’ll also learn proper alignment and body mechanics to safely deliver the techniques. Then, we’ll recite the mantra to Shivago Komarpaj (Wai Khru), warm up with a brief partner yoga sequence, and dive into a Thai Yoga Massage routine you can easily practice with friends, family, and students!

Come in comfy clothes and bring your yoga mats. This workshop is friendly for all levels. No previous yoga or massage experience is necessary! Come by yourself or with a friend!

Thai Massage Intensive: 32 CE Hours

Dates: September 21, 22, October 19, 20

The Thai Yoga Massage practitioner uses hands, feet, elbows, and knees to apply the therapeutic techniques. The sessions are performed fully clothed on a mat on the floor. In this course, you will learn to apply Thai massage techniques in the supine, prone, side-lying and seated positions. You will learn a routine that will last 90 minutes to 2-hours in length, along with specific variations for height, size, and injuries. This class is ideal for those massage therapists, yoga practitioners, energy workers, or those with a background in anatomy. A manual is included in the cost.
This class is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) for 32 CE hours.  Approved Provider #451899-12.
